Directional Wireless Outdoor Beam Counters
Description
Traf-Sys Directional
Wireless Outdoor Beams are a tamper-proof outdoor version of
our Directional Wireless
Beams. They are battery powered and transmit data over a
wireless connection to the MIU-1000 data
controller. Directional traffic detection enables these sensors
to measure both inbound and outbound people counting
statistics.
Features of Directional Wireless Outdoor Beams People
Counters
- 3.6 volt Lithium battery power (1 to 2-year operation)
- Integrated 900 MHz wireless radio interface
- Up to 1300 ft radio range

- Case designed for outdoor installation
Directional Wireless Outdoor Beams People Counter -
Application
Traf-Sys People Counting Wireless
Directional Infrared People Counters are ideal for environments
where you are unable to reach a power outlet and need a simple to
install solution. They can be installed in minutes and require very
little training or expertise to install. The weatherproof enclosure
makes these senors ideal for outdoor use.
Directional Wireless Outdoor Beams Customer Counter - Placement
and Installation
Traf-Sys People Counting Wireless
Directional Infrared People Counters are installed in entrances
up to 25 feet wide and 36 to 52 inches from the ground. The beams
should be installed in an area where the path of the beams is not
likely to be obstructed by doors, reflective surfaces or other
objects. When the beams are blocked by objects, they are unable to
count. So, it is important to make sure the area where the beams
will be installed is free from obstacles. Reflective surfaces such
as glass and mirrors may cause interference with the infrared
detection pattern. So, it is recommended to mount your infrared
beams away from such surfaces.
The Directional
Wireless Outdoor Beam Counters detection pattern consists of
two beams. The order in which the beams are broken determines the
direction of travel recorded. Because of this mechanic, only
Front-Firing versions of the Directional Infrared Beam people
counters are available. Therefore, it is recommended to mount these
customer counting systems either on the inside of a door frame (see
image) or with a mounting bracket that will allow you to attach
the sensor to the wall. Mounting brackets are available upon
request.
