People Counters are sensors used to detect the number of people entering a portal. We have several different technologies that can monitor portals in different ways.
The Trafsys Beams are easy to setup and maintain. They can
communicate wirelessly to a MIU-1000 through a 4.9 repeater
interface. Each beam set is identified by a unique serial number,
which is embedded in every data packet sent to the MIU-1000.
The Trafsys Directional Wireless Beams provide a simple way to
track the direction of people passing through a given area. The
beams communicate wirelessly to either an MIU-1000 or MIU-1500 data
controller. Each beam set is uniquely identified by a serial number
that is stamped into each of the transmitted packets to the data
controller.
The Traf-Sys Thermal Sensor is designed to count people moving
through a specific area by detecting body heat from each person and
generating a number each time a person crosses a "count line" which
can be customized by the installer.
The Traf-Sys Wired Beam Sensors are designed to work
with the RS485 interface of the MIU-1000 data controller. Traf-Sys
Wired Beam Sensors can measure directional traffic and are mounted
on each side of a doorway with a horizontal detection pattern.
Surround Sensor traffic counting systems are designed to collect accurate foot traffic data in swinging door entrance applications. The Surround door counter sensor has a built in microprocessor (smart chip) for greater accuracy and is unaffected by lighting conditions.
Traf-Sys Directional Wireless Outdoor Beams are a tamper-proof outdoor version of our Directional Wireless Beams. They are battery powered and transmit data over a wireless connection to the MIU-1000 data controller. Directional traffic detection enables these sensors to measure both inbound and outbound people counting statistics.
Data Controllers are devices that are connected to you people counters either wired or wireless. They can collect and log data from your people counters and make it available over your local area network.
The Traf-Sys MIU-1000 is a stand-alone device designed to
process and log data from wireless Traf-Sys sensors. The MIU-1000
receives radio transmitted data from sensors, processes the data
and makes the data available via a command/response interface or
XML delivery over the web.
The Traf-Sys MIU-1500 is a stand-alone data controller that can
be used without software. It can collect data from wirless sensors
and make the data available over your network. The buit-in web
interface will allow you to analyze your data directly from the
MIU-1500, or you can export the data in .csv format to analyze in
your own database.
The Traf-Sys MIU-4 data controller is a stand-alone device designed to process and log data from wired Traf-Sys sensors. The MIU-4 receives contact-closure relay signals from sensors, processes the data and makes the data available via a command/response interface through the built-in serial data port.
The Traf-Sys MIU-8 data controller is a stand-alone device designed to process and log data from wired Traf-Sys sensors. The MIU-8 receives contact-closure relay signals from sensors, processes the data and makes the data available via a command/response interface through the built-in serial data port.
The Traf-Sys MIU-40 data controller is a stand-alone device designed to process and log data from wired Traf-Sys sensors. The MIU-40 receives contact-closure relay signals from sensors, processes the data and makes the data available via a command/response interface through the built-in serial data port.
Software is used to collect data from our devices, store it in a database and provide reports for analysis.

Traf-Sys Wireless Repeaters can be used to boost the wireless performance of your People Counters and extend the reach of your wireless transmission. This device will receive the signal of nearby People Counting Devices, then re-transmit the signal using an omni directional antenna.
The Traf-Sys People Counting Wireless Transmitter is the interface between a People Counting Device without integrated wireless capability and our wireless data controllers. They use a proprietary wireless protocol to communicate to the data controller. The wireless communication will not interfere with a nearby 802.11 connection.
